Accreditation of Online Distance Learning Schools: Make Sure Your Course Is Recognised By The Right Examining Bodies

Before starting a course or program of study, it is a key part of your preparation to check the credentials of the place that will be providing your education, and that the qualifications you receive at the end of your studies will be recognised globally.

A school offering professional management or business courses should be accredited by the course examination awarding bodies, such as Edexcel and CQI. Just as if you are looking for a UK school to study an English course you should look for British Council accreditation. These business management and professional awarding organisations are a great benchmark for you, as they check schools regularly for high standards of tuition.

Be sure that you are looking for the right accreditation bodies; British Council accreditation is not applicable for online business and management schools. Schools that do not teach English and that do not teach face-to-face do not have anything to do with the British Council. So if you want to study a professional business or management course online, you should choose a school that is accredited with the right bodies, and years of experience of delivering distance learning courses before the arrival of the Internet would also reassure.

The Brighton School of Business and Management, for example, has been teaching a range of professional courses by distance learning to UK and internationally-based students since the 1980s, and courses are now available to study online. As well as being accredited by Edexcel, CIMA and the ACCA, they are also a registered provider of online courses in Quality Management through the Chartered Quality Institute.

The Brighton School of Business and Management is a UK-based school, and all the teaching materials and tutor feedback is in English.

So they recommend studying English at a British Council accredited school before your course begins, if you have not yet achieved an IELTS score of at least 5.
